EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM

We are committed to an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program that is industry-setting.

Delivering this mandate means being responsive to both the emerging and sustained barriers — and building capacity — in Indigenous communities.

CDN’s Emerging Leaders Program delivers tangible training to Indigenous participants to increase quality educational opportunities, develop meaningful work experience, and gain skills to support a broad extent of career opportunities.

Focusing on two fundamental streams, Indigenous participants develop skill sets that teach them foundational skills to help grow their careers, especially those seeking supervisory and leadership roles.

What makes this program industry-setting is the engagement of our learning partner, SAIT, and the Indigenous communities in the creation of the course curriculum. Today’s program is developed from an Indigenous worldview.

COURSE CONTENT

Focusing on two fundamental streams in communications and leadership, the course outline consists of 16 modules total, with each module broken into a 4-hour learning session.

The final piece of the program is a customized takeaway exercise specific to Indigenous cultures designed to encourage students to apply their classroom learnings into their work life and traditional ways of living. Graduates receive a SAIT-issued certificate of completion — a tangible asset to help in their job search and future career aspirations.
